My name is Shaun Johnson and I am a personal nutritionist and team leader at Lift Personal Training and Nutrition in Liberty Lake, Washington. My passion is providing a private, professional, and personalized exercise program to help you achieve and maintain your health and fitness goals. I was very skeptical of how a 15-minute workout could even come close to how hard I was pushing myself in the gym and I never thought that 15 minutes could be enough time to get a sufficient workout in. After my initial workout, I was amazed not only by how intense it was, but also by how quickly I saw changes in my strength, endurance, and waistline. My body changed dramatically after the first 4 weeks of training, I became a firm believer after one workout. I also used this protocol to prepare for my bikini competitions and did zero cardio and lifted 3 times a week for 15 minutes to test the regime at how effective it is at bodybuilding and getting sub 10% body fat. I took first overall in my first competition and second in my second one.

Growing up I was a multi-sport athlete, but mainly excelled in wrestling. I was a three-time state champion and a high school all-American. What’s funny is that I knew little about working out or nutrition! After High School, I attended North Idaho College on a Full-Ride Scholarship. During my time there I was a College All-American and Captain of our team before transferring to Purdue University on a Full-Ride to finish my wrestling career and bachelor’s.

It was not until college, and taking classes in sports and general nutrition, sports psychology, group fitness, etc. that I started to implement what I learned into personal eating and training habits. I started to take training more seriously. I trained in cycling, running, H.I.I.T., CrossFit, calisthenics, plyometrics, and your typical strength training routines. Recently I have been studying HIT Method and have been undergoing the same training as well….to say the least, it has been kicking my butt. I am excited to bring my enthusiasm for training others to the Lift Personal Training Team, and to help you build healthy workout habits and achieve your fitness goals!

I truly desire my clients to be comfortable with themselves, I want everyone to feel proud of who they are as individuals, and I love helping others achieve their personal goals.

A little more about me, at a very young age I started working out, mainly lifting weights in my garage with my siblings and mother. In high school, I played basketball and volleyball. My volleyball coach had me take over the conditioning almost immediately as she recognized my ambition and knowledge of proper exercise. I loved making workouts for my team and I realized I had a strong passion for motivating them to push themselves to their limits

When I was old enough I started working at a small local gym and being very consistent with my training, education, and intentional with my goals. I dove head first into learning all about health, nutrition, and fitness. I started shadowing the trainers and being a backup for the group fitness classes. I love getting people excited about fitness and want to inspire people to reach their goals. I realized that I thoroughly enjoy and am gifted at encouraging people and helping them push through roadblocks. I also identify deep-rooted beliefs that cause others to not reach their potential which makes excuses to get out of the way! I have my certification in super slow training, as well as group fitness classes.

Our training team helps you define your individual fitness goals and then creates a roadmap to get you there safely, in minimum time. We take into account your current fitness level and discuss what you specifically want to achieve. We help you focus on smaller goals that are specific and realistic; they’re more attainable, setting you up to achieve the larger, more audacious goal. Your trainer also helps assess your progress toward those goals and will hold you accountable.

Personalized Workout

At Lift Personal Training, we create a specific workout plan just for you based on the goals you want to achieve. This isn’t a one-size-fits-all workout routine you’d find in a book or magazine. The personalized plan is tailored to your goals, needs, and allowances for your current physical condition and medical background. We make accommodations to your program if you have an injury, bad back or knees, or have specific medical issues such as RA, MS, and Osteoporosis for example.

Instruction

Our professional trainers teach the proper way to perform each exercise movement you will perform. She demonstrates the movement, coaches you through it, and corrects any issues with your posture or technique. Learning how to perform exercises properly reduces your risk of injury and increases the movement’s efficacy. When you perform exercise movements the right way, it increases your results and guarantees safety.

Motivation

Motivation is often difficult to maintain when you exercise on your own. Regular sessions with your trainer create accountability, which is a real motivator to not let down yourself or your coach. But there’s also something to be said for feeding that part of our brain that craves praise. Hearing a trainer celebrate your consistency, progress, or even proper technique can be a real boost when you feel like throwing in the towel.

Accountability

If you lack commitment, self-motivation, or just the ability to kick your own self in the pants, your trainer is the key to getting your new fitness routine off the ground. When you exercise on your own, it is easier to skip a session here and there or fall off the wagon completely since there’s no one to hold you to your actions. When you work with a trainer you’re far more likely to show up and do the work.
